3 Nov 2025
Week 3 of the Pacific Championships got underway at the weekend, with a crop of Betfred Super League stars taking centre stage in the Pacific Bowl competition.
Super League’s Edwin Ipape, Lachlan Lam and Rhyse Martin stole the show for PNG, who secured their third straight Pacific Bowl title with a commanding 50-18 victory against Fiji.

Martin delivered a perfect record with the boot kicking nine out nine goals on Saturday. He also emerged as the Kumuls’ top tackler with 31 tackles, and added his name to the scoresheet in opening half as PNG dominated.
Ipape and Lam produced a try assist each, with Ipape’s shimmering display also earning him Player of the Match.
The Leigh Leopards hooker came up with an attacking masterclass for his country, scoring one try, making two line-breaks and ran 118 metres in his 70-minute performance.

In defeat, Castleford Tigers’ new centre/winger Semi Valemei scored a try.
Meanwhile, New Zealand beat Tonga 40-14 to ensure a place in the Pacific Cup Final next weekend, which will be shown live on Sky Sports for viewers in the UK.
England will also face Australia in the third and final ABK Beer Ashes Test on Saturday 8 November at AMT Headingley Stadium in Leeds (K.O. 2:30pm).
It’s a complete sell-out, with England looking to end the series on a high.
The match will also be available to watch live on BBC One domestically, with information on overseas coverage available here.
